Grave Miner

Grave Miners are a specific group of miners in Hornfell, nicknamed for their mine later being discovered to be a massive dragon graveyard. While the mines are the largest source of iron ore in Brennis, they are mostly well known for having a large amount of dragon skeletons buried among the ore. It's not exactly known what caused all the dragons to be in this area, and most of the skeletons are incomplete, but buried well underthem is a massive vein of iron ore. Most of the coinage used in Brennis came from Hornfell's mines.

Most of the Grave Miners were strong young men who wanted something a little more profitable and steady over farm work.

Career Progression

When Hornfell's mines were discovered King Rain Brennis I put a lot of funding and resources into developing the mines. It was a large investment that paid off just months after the project began. Aside from basic wages given to the miners for their labor, nearly all profits to The Kingdom of Brennis.  
Seasonal miners work in Hornfell during the winter months, and then return to the fields in later winter/early spring.  Grave miners are full time workers in the mines, and tend to be much more competent and skilled.  Veteran Grave Miners, those who spend two years or more in the mines, are rewarded with a small plot of land around Hornfell's quarry holes, and given a small pay increase. They tend to do more engineering jobs expanding the mines. Foremen are long time Grave Miners who know the mines inside and out and oversee operations in the mine. Usually the mine has no more than three of them at a time.
