Arthopods
Beetles: Depending on the type, these creatures can range in size from a large dog to a horse on average. The tough carapaces make them hard to take down but it could be worth it for the chitin you can get.
- Horned beetle - often found in grasslands and occasionally near forests. Territorial, beware of the charge. If you have a shot at the soft underbelly, take it.
- Acid spitting - Shoots a caustic liquid at threats. Typically lives in woodlands, sometimes found in caverns. Small but move in groups. The acid gland can be harvested by a skilled set of hands. WARNING! Do not use fire, beetles WILL explode.
- Trapdoor - Ambush predator, tries to drag prey into its burrow.
- Jumping - Takes flying leaps to tackle down prey.
- Phase - Aggressive and hard to target. This spider possesses a strange ability to vanish into thin air only to reappear somewhere else.
- Wasp Queen - When the queens leave the nest, she takes a flight of drones with her to search for a suitable vessel - usually a beetle or a spider, but anything large and made of meat is fine. They don't kill their prey, but inject a paralyzing toxin while they lay their eggs inside. The eggs hatch in a few days and chow down on the immobile host.

awesome!
thank you!
Not one bit of a problem! Beetles the size of a car! I never even dreamed of that, spiders, however. Those are just terrifying
haha, yeah a massive trapdoor spider or jumping spider would be frightening (tiny jumping spiders are cute in a weird way, though).
Very much agreed. Soon, in Animoterra (my world), there will be the addition of Constructors, large beetle-like creatures living in colonies.
