Welcome to Memdia, a knightcore high fantasy setting focused on the evolution, collaboration, and conflict of culture across a rich and varied history. Each nation is its own character, and its people their beating hearts. Running on a semi-soft magic system, the world's focus is on how its people live across its vast eras, their beliefs and their ways of life. There's no overarching evil, no grand mystery that ties everything into a pretty bow. Just people, the stories they tell, and the ways they try to be remembered.   Magic, or as Memdians call it Essence, is the thread that ties everyone together. Its in the air, in every Memdian's blood, and is their key to leaving a mark behind on a vast world that otherwise is stacked against them. Gods, holding levels of Essence beyond mortal understand, weave their will into the world, playing games of chess with each other, using their subjects as the pieces. Nations use might and number to enforce their image of the ideal onto one another until the ground runs red and white with blood and essence. The layman watches the sparks of potential light up the night air like fireflies, and writes a message in the ground for the next person to pause long enough to see it.   In Memdia's tapestry, they're all equally important.
