Uncomfortable Silence

His keepers were awfully quiet, as he observed them quietly. As the other one - Erwen they had called them, yes? - turned their eyes on him, he tried to offer them a customary smile, but they seemed to get only more agitated and turned away hastily. Well, it was not lost on him that many even where he came from found his people... unnerving in some ways, so it wasn't that much of the surprise that there were these oddities with these creatures totally foreign to him. They found him upsetting, he was sure. He, however, wondered, how much more upsetting they would find his people if he told them that his family had considered him "emotional" because he was pretty sure part of the upset was his much more maintained emotional range.

Of course, he was upset too. He was misplaced, and his mission had been aborted, who knew if he could ever claim his reward. But he had survived, and if Proshnoya decided to put a reward on his head, they would have a hard time fetching him for any disciplinary actions. This was the first connection to unknown civilisation, after generations of isolation, history in a making and he was in the centre of it, and at least for now, he was far, far out of the way of the conflicts back home.

His hosts fascinated him. These strangers felt awfully passionate people. It was quite intriguing actually, considering the wealth of magic he had already seen them wielding. Absolutely curious indeed.

Seinn wasn't quite sure what his keepers had in store for him, though this Erwen seemed increasingly uneasy with him. However, his Galegal, who seemed to be in a seniority position in this situation had ensured that his transfer was simply a safety measure for all parties involved and that paladin Ilakhan had offered him the best of recomendations. With "Ilakhan", he was pretty sure they referred to Daoiness, who had gracefully taken him in and introduced him to these gentlemen. There was a discomfort with the inability to meet her again before he was apparently leaving to some duties, as he was getting a hunch that a lot of the goodwill he was receiving might hang in her words.

The windows of the vehicle they moved in were covered, though he had seen a glimpse of the animals that pulled it. He would have loved to examine them further - there was a lot of things he would have loved to examine, but for now, he didn't feel safe to do so. The keepers had taken his back already and almost taken his arm, so it was safe to say it was probably safe to not give them any more reasons to gawk at him.

Well, maybe he would find out a way to gain some of the trust of these strangers, maybe they could offer him sanctuary for a while. Maybe he would get a chance to thank this Daoiness again soon. He might if her name was descriptive of her. It sounded awfully like the word "daotess" in his languages - a word that meant survivor.

Vehicle stopped. "We are there", Galegal told with a nervous smile.

Seinn nodded. Whatever there was, where ever he was, it was time to face what was to come.

Good luck, Paladin Ilakhan. May your mission be fruitful.
