According to the legends, kobolds were a creation of dragons, and any kobold worth their gems is not going to let you forget it. For another creature, this could be embarrassing, but kobolds believe that if they serve their community in this life, they will have their next one as the mighty dragon, and that is a great source of pride for them.

Kobolds are small reptilian humanoids, with dragonic blood. As much as the Dwarfs would like to deny it, kobolds are actually very talented at finding precious minerals, and possibly the best miners in existence. They often get overlooked by other races, which the proud kobolds take offence to.
