Boor-Yit Eeñraat-Skenhy

The Boor-Yit Eeñraat-Skenhy (/boːɽ/, /ʉit/; /ɤːɴɽaʈ/, /ʃkençʉ/; each pair enunciated simultaneously if possible; refer to Ontuuqa-Arkjesti for more details on pronounciation) is the primary religious text of the Uruu-Hili.   The primary copy is written in an archaic form of Ontuuqa-Arkjesti and carved into the walls of the subterranean floors of the grand temple of Aruunar-Yiksei on the Uruu-Hili homeworld Oodaar-Ermyja, covering a total wall area of approximately 500m². Digital and physical copies, including ones annotated with or translated into modern forms of the language or other languages. It is common among Uruu-Hili to carry a copy of the text, typically a digital copy, but more devout individuals may choose physical copies.   The Boor-Yit Eeñraat-Skenhy tells the story of ²Kjes¹quun²hy, said to be the first bonded Uruu-Hili. ²Kjes¹quun²hy is said to have singlehandedly established Uruu-Hili society in a form close to its modern iteration and become the first (and only) Uruu-Hili to transcend bonding and become inseparable.

History

While discussion and research of the origins of the Boor-Yit Eeñraat-Skenhy is somewhat frowned upon in Uruu-Hili society, the history of the document is fairly well established. While the document itself states that it was carved into the walls of the temple by ²Kjes¹quun²hy, fragments of earlier stone tablets containing parts of the narrative have been found dating back hundreds of years before the construction of the grand temple. Differences between some of these stone tablets suggest that they may have been transcribed independently from different versions of the same oral tradition, suggesting an origin of the document even further back.
