People of Myth and Magic
Although short-lived and physically weaker than the other races, the Rhynodd possess immense skill in magic and are known as the most innovative of mortals. Nothing is impossible for a Rhynodd for long. They are the most widely varying of races, capable of living almost anywhere under any conditions. Rhynodd are also the most scholarly of the races, perhaps as a way to match the long lives and long memories of their neighbours.
The Rhynodd are a bipedal species, hominid in shape. They tend toward thick hair, which may vary from straight to wavy to curly to kinky, on their heads, with sparser hair on the rest of their body. Their skin colour can be anything from the palest ivory to the darkest umber. The Rhynodd stand anywhere from just under 5 feet to over 6 feet tall, although the average height is about 5'4"-5'7".
Growth Rate & Stages
The Rhynodd tend to live between 35-40 years, and are considered to be adults at age 21. Magical ability usually manifests itself when the Rhynodd hits puberty, around 10-12 years of age.
Ecology and Habitats
Unlike most of the other mortal races, the Rhynodd can be found in nearly every type of biome. Even in areas that seem entirely hostile, with little fertile soil for agriculture or a climate inhospitable for habitation, it would come as no surprise to find a Rynoddach settlement. The Rhynodd are known for their deep desire for exploration, something only matched by the equids of the steppes.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
The Rhynodd are renowned across the world for their magical prowess, capable of the most fantastic feats, the finest control, and the widest range of forms of magic. Perhaps because their innate magical talents are so powerful, the Rhynodd have weaker physical senses, relative to the other mortal races.
Civilization and Culture
Major Language Groups and Dialects
The two main languages of the Rhynodd are Enisirran and Lledhaneg, although there are numerous dialect groups within these branches.
