The Chronicle Proprietress
Owner and operator of the Chronicle Inn, the Proprietress has been the defacto ruler over the area north of the Silver Sea and bounded on the northwest by the Bone Forest and northeast by the Baron's domain for as long as anyone can remember.
The Proprietress welcomes all travelers with cordial aloofness, but shows special interest in those bearing news or information from other settlements. Her library is widely known to be the most complete repository of knowledge left in the darkened world, and she is ever adding to it. Those seeking to curry favor with her would do well to remember that any new information delights her, even be it personal gossip, but she cares little for works of fiction.
She is an elegant woman whose features flow in all aspects: from her ink-black hair, to her bone-white hands playing her shamisen, to her voluminous robes that echo her every movement. Despite her clothing being floor length, it never shows evidence of dust or disrepair. She carries herself with effortless grace; likewise, her manner of speech leaves not a word wasted or out of place.
Physical Description
Body Features
Possessing the lithe grace characteristic of northern Arshua women, the Proprietress has all the qualities of an artist's muse and subtly exploits it. While her physical beauty could also inspire ruder conversations, these are curtailed by the immense danger inherent in talking behind her back.
Some guests have claimed to have awakened at night seeing her head "floating" above their beds, but such talk is dismissed as mere night terrors.
Physical quirks
Her mask appears to hold an unusual amount of liveliness. The astute may notice the corner of her mouth twitch upward, or her eyebrows arch - but the moment passes, and those with manners do not comment.
