Months
Jen'sai
Jen'sai marks the beginning of the year, where the climate is bitter cold, and the sun is almost nonexistent during the day. Most spend their time inside due to this. This time of year is filled with quiet celebrations and hymns.
Falbrim
Falbrim is the month, where the temperature starts to increase significantly and the cold of winter starts to vanish. With the cold of winter fleeting, Falbrim becomes a common month for several businesses, that were closed before, to open. It is also a prime season for romance and most animals in the wild would begin their mating season at this time.
Melsuvius
Melsuvius marks the midpoint of the Spring season and is often one of the world's most active months due to the fair weather and clear skies. Within The Northern Islands, several festivals are held during this month to celebrate the defeat of the evil dragonlord Din.
Avalon
Avalon marks the transition from Spring to the Summer time and is the peak period for labor in most countries. Due to this, production in the world increases massively and farmers take this time to prepare their lengthier crops for the Fall harvest.
Maximus
Maximus is a month of great fortune and is said to be the only time during the year where the legendary trader, Xello, comes down from the heavens to exchange currency for grand artifacts. Most people, however, never get to meet the trader face to face.
Jade
Jade is a month where the world slows down in activity within southern regions, due to the immense heat, and increases within the northern regions due to the weather being more balanced. This marks the hottest time of year in the world of Horizon. Droughts are possible during this time.
Keldrark
Keldrark is the final month of summer and temperatures would start to drop progressively. During this time period, there's a large spike in agriculture as most nations prepare for the Fall harvest.
Augustus
Augustus marks the beginning of Fall and, during this time, rainfall is quite common. Harvests would begin, however, most food would not be shipped until the following month.
Seppius
Seppius marks the time period where the world would have a large spike in the amount of food produced and shipped. This time period would be where most citizens would purchase fresh goods and preserve them in preparation for the holidays.
Umbra
Umbra is the month where the world is within The Almighty's shadow and nighttime is infinite. Due to this, most criminal organizations plan their operations around this month and monster activity spikes to an all time high.
Nurvana
Nurvana marks the beginning of the Holidays and is considered one of the more peaceful times of year. Toward the middle of the month, most people prepare a large feast and give thanks for the many relationships they've formed.
Denerim
Denerim marks the beginning of Winter and is said to be the most sacred month of all due to the Messiah being borne on this month. Men and women of faith often have several gatherings and services in appreciate of The Almighty and celebrate their deliverance from certain doom.
Currency
Crown
Crowns are small golden coins, that are used in The Northern Islands and The Midlands, as the primary currency. The coin itself depicts a picture of a crown on one side and Dominus Alkos I on the other side.
Silver
Silvers are the primary currency of Naisaam and Murata. The silver coin has a distinct polygon carved into the center with the amount of sides determining the coin's value.
Gears
Gears are the primary dwarven currency and is expected in all dwarven territories besides the ones in the northern islands that accept Crowns as well.
Souls
Souls are the primary currency in the Enigmium realms and can only be obtained by killing being of the Enigmium and soul trapping them. Souls can also be spent to gain additional stat points.
Realms
Materium
Materium refers to all material planes, that can be reached without being in ethereal form. This includes the realm that all player characters start in and the planet Horizon itself. All portions of Materium can be perceived through the naked eye without any magical assistance unless there are physical barriers preventing that perception.
Enigmium
Enigmium refers to all ethereal and astral planes and can only accessed through dying, turning into an ethereal form or through already being a creature from the Enigmium. This area is mostly associated with the afterlife and creatures beyond the commonfolk's understanding. Most don't like speaking of the Enigmium due to a rumor of the Enigmium bestowing curses upon those that bother to even utter its name in hushed conversation.
