It is written from the language of those before us, that long ago the Gods weaved the threads of the planes to create our universe. However, as the worlds moved about, devoid of any meaningful life, they grew restless and so they dreamed up a creature to fill these empty worlds. The gods watched with glee as it began to flourish in its environment, entertaining them with its growth and evolution... until some of the gods began to notice a problem. Their creation was far too much like themselves, much larger than any creature should be, so inherently full of magic that they could merely think of what they wanted to cast and it would be done to the point that the dreams themselves began to dream.   The gods had decided to correct their mistake, but the first race had voted against that, leading into a war of unknown proportions. The gods had won, but not without their own casualties. Some writings even state that members of the first race managed to flee, forcing some gods to chase after them, leaving the number of gods to watch after our world a mere nine. They had decided that creating a single race together was not worth the risk again, so they each had created a handful of creatures and watched over them, far more proud of these dreams of theirs.   This is the history of our world Mashngi, as understood by the uncovered dungeons that the first race had hidden from their time spent here and from the word of the high priests who spoke to the gods directly. Interestingly, through the various writings of the first races ruins, they had given themselves a name. Those who were dreamt up, learned to dream themselves, creating powerful objects that they chose to leave behind should anyone in the future need them. They want not to become nightmares, but to dream of a future. The writing can be interpreted several ways, even Io can see how the churches choose to view them, but regardless of how it's read, the first race refers to themselves as The Dreamers.
