The Laws of the Mage

To use Arcane magic is a bit of a paradox, as it is actually a form of controlling the world that requires you to unleash the chaos that once ruled everything. when the world was formed from the spiraling chaos most of it was left inert with the gods being the only ones able to bring law to it and make the earth capable of holding life. but the strings of discord and mayhem still lie within the natural world and some strange souls have found how to unlock them and with practice gain a semblance of control to use for their own desires.   There are many different ways to cast spells and while individuals will have their own variations there are still hard set rules that govern the use within different groups.
  • Bard: Bards are probably one of the hardest spell casters to understand, They harness the power of emotion both their own and others. A musician harp twisting minds and hearts with its song, or a jester whose juggling could summon a storm of thunder.
  • Sorcerer: Sorcerers are those who are infused with magic some at birth and some through events later in life but all who choose to advance themselves are known as powerful forces of nature and chaos. they cast their spells based on pure instinct twisting fingers into mismatched patterns tearing and reforming the fabric of reality into strange new designs.
  • Warlock: Warlocks are People who have been given a portion of energy from a being of near godlike power or a creature high above any mortal plane who may not even know of their existence. any creature who has the power of such a being has a debt to them, whether they know of it or not the instant a bond has formed the recipient has a requirement that they owe to their patron.
  • Wizard: Wizards are the most refined of the arcane casters relying on the study and memorization of patterns and phrases that warp the world to their whims, supplementing specific magical components to make up for their lack of an intense concentration of magic within others. (eldritch knights and arcane tricksters both learn and use spells in the same way)
  • Artificer: Artificers are the least outright powerful of the arcane casters focusing a lot of there energy on infusing the magic they do have into more traditional creations, taking the same set of knives used to carve a wooden figure they draw a symbol in the air and strike them together letting sparks leap into the air expanding into explosive power.
