Narcissa Krokus
Narcissa claimed to have been betrothed to a knight in far-off Gallreich, but the arrangement fell through, and she made her way home, only to find her ancestral estate has been razed and her family and the rest of the inhabitants missing or presumed dead. With nowhere else to turn, she made her way to Schloss Horstkopf - the seat of the Margrave Aleric Wallia, her second cousin once removed. Narcissa had spent much of her childhood at the castle, and the Margrave took pity on her. Narcissa was welcome to stay while she investigated what happened to her home. But several months after her arrival, the Margrave's wife died in childbirth, and economic difficulties mounted. The Margrave's sons and his majordomo began to hint that perhaps it was time for Narcissa to look for other sources of support. In any event, the denizens of the castle had little time for Narcissa, as they planned for the funeral, as well as a possible wedding of the Margrave's second son Vilaris and the lady Winifred von Bischoffsbaum. Feeling the presence of a kindred spirit, Narcissa befriended Winifred as she sought a way out of her predicament. She then took the opportunity to steal the Margrave's baby daughter, and turn her over to a strange old woman called 'Grandmother' in a high room of the castle. This caused the castle to come under a curse, and all the denizens save the group that subsequently became Narcissa's companions, to fall into a state of suspended animation.
After abandoning Schloss Horstkopf, Narcissa traveled with Sigisar Wallia, the Margrave's surviving son. By the by, she visited Fallsmar, where she enjoyed a romantic interaction with the Dwarf Prince Laurin, as well as a short trip to Niflheim. She then followed her cousin to Brillig, where she killed a priest and some novices, and fled to to Hegenburg, to seek the protection of the sorceress Matilda. Ultimately, Sigisar confronted her in a tavern in Willmar, where Narcissa killed her cousin (with the help of Reinhard, but was then decapitated by his man Edmon in turn.
Narcissa had a pet raven that she acquired while in Gallreich. She says it is a hunting bird - a new Gallisch fad for raven hunting. She later had an imp familiar named Baeleb.
