Ancient Stone God Heads
The Ancient Stone God Heads of the northern plain are quite the curious discovery. Located a day's walk north of the UmbraGelb Desert, this plain has seen little inhabitance over the century. When they were discovered by explorer Hollis Oplit in 1847 no one could figure out why they were placed there originally or even how they had gotten there.
Purpose / Function
The purpose of this monument is unclear to today's people - twelve stone heads carved of white marble from the great mountain range (when there are two other closer mountain ranges that contain other forms of marble & if you were keeping track, this is the same marble the Stone and Ruins City was built out of, but on the other side of the continent). Each of the heads, towering over two stories tall have all been carved differently as if they were carved of someone, but there is no mention in our history of their carvings, no correlation between 12 figures and any historical, religious, or mythological story can be made. Their spread-out formation forms a separate lightning bolt and star, but that just might be reading too much into it. And via carbon dating done in the early 2000s, they seem to be older than the continent was ever thought to be.
History
The Ancient Stone God Heads were discovered by the explorer Hollis Oplit, who was sent by the Spring Kingdom to survey the northern areas that were technically part of the StarRise Kingdom but were unclaimed by them (it was on this mission that the sites for the two Spring Coastal cities of Callis and Umbra were picked out). Oplit has sent back her report that there were floating heads in the middle of the plain, and the Spring Kingdom originally thought that the area was rough with bandits who had left the heads of those they had robbed on sticks in the desert (as was rumored to be the StarSet kingdom's evil practice) and they were very surprised to get the drawings back of this old weathered stone monument all alone in the middle of the grasslands.
