Necromancers of Malyk

In the sphere of Malyk, Necromancy is a practice of magic that is, in some form, illegal or restricted, depending on the nation's laws.   In Edox and the Council of Midara, Necromancers are restricted, in the fact that raising or animated the dead is illegal. Other, minor forms of Necromancy, such as False Life and Cause Fear, are legal. In Harukagon, all forms of Necromancy is illegal without a permit, which is usually only given to royalty or government officials.   On the continent of Nor, however, the act of animating the dead is not illegal, but with some restrictions. For the Empire of Ulstrom, Necromancers are allowed to animate the corpses of people, if they claim ownership of them. Ownership of corpses can be inherited, much like wealth and other property, when one dies. Some Necromancers of Ulstrom will also purchase the corpse rights of people in life, so that their corpse becomes owned by them in death. In Al'Zharia, the undead are more sacred. The god, Setyxket, is the only one of the nine gods of Malyk to make his home on the planet, in the Ruins of Al'Zharia. The spirits and bodies of those faithful to him will not undergo Transitus, and instead have their spirit return the the fallen pyramid, where their god resides. Usually, when one devoted to Setyxket dies, their body is sent to the ruins, so their body and soul can reunite. This is the reason the people of Al'Zharia rarely leave their country.
