Trolls raze the city within nine months.

Having long endured a bitter rivalry with the local troll tribes, sometimes even going as far as hunting the troll inhabitants, the trolls finally had enough, and united behind a single banner to lay waste to their bitter enemies.   In an astonishingly embarassing event, the entire city of Parthelain was razed within only nine months, its platinum-lined walls being destroyed from the inside. The trolls had found ways into the city from underground, and came by the droves from below, removing the walls from the equation. Completely underestimating the trolls, the denizens of Parthelain hadn't even considered them able of strategic thought, and the city was wiped out in quick succession.
