The very first Aetherborn is birthed from the storms in sanctuary.

In the middle of the Dragon Wars, the Aetherborn start appearing from the storms inside Sanctuary. In that time, there appeared a far larger number than it does today. Bahamut enlisted the help of these newcomers into his army, and their aid proved invaluable in defeating Tiamat.
