Sargoroth, Guardian of Garathin

Garathin is the original realm of devils, and after Odari sealed them away, it also became the home realm of the demons. During a time of civil war, the demon Sargoroth showed noble mercy to both devil and demon alike, and became the King of Garathin for a long time, inventing the first demonic contracts. Impressed with his skill, adherence to code and strength, Odari contacted Sargoroth and the two came to strike a deal - In return for Sargoroth joining the pantheon and transcending to Yggdrasil, the demons and devils would be given a chance to live on Malkor. While most devils and demons at this point were too proud to share Malkor, and were subsequently re-banished to Garathin, some demons of a noble heart remained on Malkor. These are the progenitors of the modern-day tieflings. Tieflings often pray to Sargoroth for protection.
As for Sargoroth, he saw the proud devils and demons as betraying his trust and work and took it upon himself to become the jailer of Garathin's mischievous kind. It is through him that those who wish to deal with demons commune to regulate who is allowed to enter or exit Garathin. Lately, however, rituals that bypass his involvement were discovered. Mainly, these rituals are spearheaded by unhappy demons who have a strong distaste for Sargoroth (of which there are plenty).
Sargoroth represents duty and honor, and is a living example that one’s blood does not dictate one’s personality nor destiny. He is the deity of contracts and honor, and paladins and loyal knights often pray to him for his blessing in a duel. As well do judges pray to him for aid in a fair and just trial. Merchants and traders also swear upon Sargoroth to show their trustworthiness. Sargoroth's sigil is that of a scale adorned with goat horns.
