Larinia Forest

Just south of the Jotu Mountains is a vast forest that stretches from the end of the Halfling Hills all the way north of Sanctuary into the Dwarven Barrens. Home to the Wood Elves, the forest is said to be lathered in Fey energies. There are stories of many strange creatures and people disappearances within the forest itself, but the one main road going between Sanctuary and the High Elven capital is known to have been enchanted, and is known to be safe for travel.
Many legends exist surrounding Larinia; A temple dedicated to the flow of time, hidden deep within an enclave, and the ruins of an old castle, the remnants of a kingdom long gone, among of course many mystical items and such. Few adventurers ever return with such treasures, but regardless the forest is a perfect place for greenhorn adventurers to venture in. The wood elves, normally quite secluded, even have a few contests held annually, where the winners are rewarded with quite luxurious items; Given that they return the elven heirlooms they find to their rightful owners. Thanks to these contests, and donations done by participants throughout the years, the most known wood elven settlement Corinth, also the capital, is known for its museum and historical records.
