In between the worlds of humans and elves there are a surprisingly high number of half-elves. Often, half-elves are treated with inspiration and awe by humans, but disdain and contempt by elves, especially high elves and drow. A half-elf will often look quite fair for a human, but a bit burlier for an elf. There are quite a few half-elven communities in human settlements and some wood elven ones, but generally half-elves avoid the Silver City, as the high elves have banned the existence of half-elves from their borders.
Elves often look like fairer humans with pointier ears, but also yield traits like darker skin if their elven parent is drow, or smaller horns if it's a wood elf.
Genetics and Reproduction
Half-elves reproduce like humans do, and can do so with most other races.
Growth Rate & Stages
Half-elves mature at a slower rate than humans, but much faster than elves. At age 29 they are usually fully matured, give or take a few years, and they often loive to be up to 400-500 years.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Unlike full elves, Half-elves have no need for magic intakes, but yield quite a lot of the benefits that elves hold. Some suspect this comes from their hybrid bodies finding substitute for magic energy to boost their physical capabilities, others suspect that elves are underdeveloped (though those ideas are shot down in elven territory very quickly). Overall the cause is unknown.
Civilization and Culture
Half-elves have varied names, depending on their upbringing.
Half-elves have had a history of existence for as long as the elves and humans have gotten to know each other. Estranged from their elven heritage, and sometimes equally alienated from their human heritage, half-elves often seek themselves to the Peacekeepers and enlist, as there are several already-established communities under Peacekeeper protection, and the Peacekeepers have come to be known to take in half-elves.
