Garathin

On the side of Lawful Evil is the demonic realm of Garathin. Previously aligned on the side of Chaotic Evil, the arrival of the demons and later rise to power of Sargoroth during the universe’s infancy splintered the realm, and a piece formed into one with a different alignment. Though Sargoroth technically rules over the realm, he sits in Asakar, and keeps a distant watch over Garathin, leaving its ruler’s seat vacant for the demons to squabble over.
Contrary to the belief of many mortals, Garathin is quite an orderly plane. Though many squabbles and fights can easily happen the plane has a few strict laws and is managed largely by a multitude of contracts and deals. Demons and devils love striking bargains, even with each other, and their hierarchies are goverend the same way. Anyone cunning enough can rise to the top, though many forget to leave a proper set of contingencies, and often rule for no more than ten years before their untimely demise.
Garathian aristocracy governs the demons and devils inhabiting the plane, constantly vying for power. They are unified in two things only; Their understanding that upsetting the balance of power might plunge the plane into war, and that Sargoroth is a filthy betrayer of their people.
