Dwarven Barrens

Littered with a few fortresses, most of them carved into mountains as pathways down to the Undergrounds, the Dwarven Barrens otherwise are largely uninhabitable, with the exception of a few scattered farms and villages. The Hill Dwarves have settled on the surface and live mainly as adventurers, farmers or hunters. They do not have a true capital city of their own, and are splintered into lesser clans across the Barrens, each with their own capital.
The largest of the mountains in the Barrens is Thalassar, under which the main capital of the Mountain Dwarves is built.
