The Calendar
Timekeeping
Malikdar recognizes time from the planet-altering event: The Great Cataclysm. Pre-Cataclysm (PRC) and Post-Cataclysm (PC) are the notations for recording time before and after the event. This system of time measurement was implemented following the cataclysm, but is not the first method of time keeping known to Malikdar. Because of their long lives time keeping and astronomical knowlege was granted first to the high elves by the Archons. After the Archons ascended the high elves went on to work with gnomes to perfect their understanding of the mechanics of the observable universe and the groups shared their knowledge of timekeeping, astronomy and navigation with the rest of the world. Gnomes remain the most knowledgeable of the calendar system and understanding history while high elves are masters of astronomical observation. Scholars have determined that humanoids likely first appeared on the planet approximately 12,000 PRC. The campaign begins 424 PC.The Suns
There are two suns Malikdar rotates around; Klertu and Klidpa. Klipda is the cooler of the two bringing fall and winter. Klertu radiating a much higher temperature brings the spring and summer. Each sun watches over the planet for 224 days evenly, for two seasons of 112 days. There are 448 days in a year in Malikdar. The Moons
There are two moons that rotate around Malikdar. Most cultures have their own names for these moons and hold different meanings. The Seasons
