Mux

Mux is a general term used to refer to all flux users. It is not required to be sensitive enough to see the flux to use it, but most mux are because it's usually hard to use it when you can't see it. Underneath are listed possible mux specialisations.

Sorcerer

Users of the flux as pure energy. A specialisation that requires to see the flux to know what you're doing. Sorcerers often create object representations in flux form to help them accomplish what they want, such as a flux axe to cut wood.   A branch of sorcerers are artists, creating beautiful and complex paintings/sculptures using the flux as a resources for their three dimensional creations.   Sorcerer is often used as a term for any flux usage that looks invisible to non-sensitives, even if it technically falls under the other categories.

Elementarist

Controllers of elements with the aid of the flux. Not to be mixed up with shamans. Elementarists can control the state, size, and location of elements, such as turning water into ice, making a flame grow bigger, or creating a sand tornado.   Elementarists have a very good knowledge of chemistry, as it is needed to make the elements bend to their will.   Elementarists cannot produce elements from scratch.

Enchanter

Writers of symbols to link flux spells to a place or an object. Enchantments can be seen as programming the flux to do what you want when you want it. The initial writing can be long and harduous, sometimes taking days or weeks, to create an enchantment which then works on its own, using the natural flux to sustain itself. Anything can be used for writing, at the enchanter's liking, as long as it is something concrete, such as engraving, or painting.   Enchantments aren't eternal and naturally decay over time. If the writing is damaged in any way, the enchantment is broken.   Enchanters are the ones who create many objects that simplify daily life, such as boxes that create cold to keep food from decaying.

Witch

Puppeteers of the flux in other living beings. Witches aren't very well regarded, the use of the flux to control someone's actions is seen as taboo and rarely results in something good. They are sometimes seen in law enforcement to take down criminals in a more pacifist way, but still distrusted.   A witch's puppet can fight against the control if their flux is strong enough to overwhelm the witch. Even the most strong-willed person cannot fight against the power of the flux. Puppets stay conscious the entire time they're being controlled and can still control the parts of their body that the witch isn't trying to manipulate.   Sleepwalkers are thought to be controlled by unseen witches.   Mental control in theory is possible but not yet explored in earnest, as brain functions aren't very well understood yet.

Seer

Riders of the waves of flux to see the past, present, and future. The further back a seer is looking into, the more energy is necessary. Most seers are "finders"; with an object a person has been in contact with recently, they can find their flux trace and ride it back to the present to locate where this person is. The same can be done to look into their past.   Seers are good investigators and a key member of any respectable police team, as they can pick up flux traces from a crime scene to somewhat reconstruct what happened.   Readings of the future are controversial and many schools of thoughts fight themselves over whether seers see a fixed fated future or only one of many possible futures.

Healer

Healers of the body. Skilful use of the flux can heal basically any wound. Most uses like this are temporary fixes, a way to "stitch" the body back together while it heals on its own. Minor wounds healed by the flux show no scarring, while larger, deeper wounds, which would show no scarring at first (thanks to flux fix) will slowly show scarring as the excess flux leaves the wound. Healers are capable to "stitch" back limbs that have been cut off recently, but cannot regrow limbs.   Diseases are still out of reach for healers but they're working on it. You better go see a herbalist.   Research by healers to bring beings back from death is controversial and a taboo in most societies.

Berserker

Boosters of capacities. Berserkers can boost their own or someone else's capacities and/or senses. This effect is usually short-lived but is enough to make someone two or four times stronger, more agile, or even more sensitive to the flux.   Berserkers are essentials to any military force.

Shaman

Creators of elements. Unlike elementarists, shamans do not control but create elements from the flux itself. It can be as simple as creating drops of water, or as complex as an intricate marble sculpture. The energy needed for creation depends on the complexity of the structure and the element being created. Shamans rarely create more than one element at once.   Shamans are almost only found in Niie, as this discipline is yet to be found by other civilisations, and is well guarded in Niie. Foreigners who travelled to Niie to learn it are taught not to teach uninitiated outside of Niie. Outsiders are often told lies and myths about what shamans can really do, as a way to protect their art.

Awaken

A mux able to use all of the flux specialisations to a high degree. It is more of a title than a specialisation in of itself. Awakens are rare and usually dreqs, as their long lifespan allow them more time to study and train.
