The Return of Kavin

The myth of "The Return of Kavin" is about Kavin of the North, who was a famous religious missionary in the 9. century. He is seen as a legend, of saint status, in Noros, and even as a god in the Aacethian Empire . A portion of the pleb in Noros, mainly the very religious ones, believes that he will one day return, when The Faith of Alikando is in danger again. It has been in great danger since Kavin died however, and he didn't show up, so most don't believe the myth to be true. Those that do, claim that the danger is faced back then, was just a small problem, compared to the perile the Faith will face in the future   Throughout the last few centuries, many have claimed to be the reincarnation of Kavin, and some have been proclaimed as it, without trying to. Thus we don't really know if it has already happened. The most notable "Reincarnation" is Victor of Stagor, who ended the corruption of the church, that had poisoned the faith. Nevertheless, he isn't accepted as the second coming, and the believers still await Kavin, anxiously.

Summary

The common folk of The Kingdom of Noros believe that Kavin of the North will one day return to Noros, and save them from their problems, as he did 600 years ago. The myth comes from when the Norosian king in 853 claims to've had a vision, of the prophecy.

Historical Basis

There is no historical evidence for the myth. The only evidence is the vision of the King of Noros, which we don't even know if it happened at all.

In Literature

The famous Aacethian Folksong about Kavin, features the prophecy of his return in the last verses. The folksong is of course very famous, and even if you aren't Aacethian, you would usually know it, as it's often played in taverns in Thiva.
