Cobalt Glider Penguin Grease

Species Name: The Cobalt Glider Penguin otherwise known as the Baron Penguin. 
What is harvested from the Penguin to Create a Fuel Source: The penguins are hunted for food and the fat of the penguin is used as a fuel source for lanterns around the kingdom. 
The Fat from the penguin is cooked down into a molten penguin grease and then stored. The Grease is used for cooking from time to time but many of the Ukari people prefer pig fat for cooking. The penguin grease can also be used in as a fuel source for lanterns ranging from personal lanterns all the way up to the massive lantern built at the top of the lighthouse in the northern shores. 
Who gathers the material: The penguins are hunted by local hunters and fishermen who live near the penguin grounds. The birds are butchered and the meat is sent to the city to be sold and eaten by the people while the chunks of lard are sent to the boiling factory to be cooked down and turned into the pungent and vital oil used for light around the kingdom. 
How is it harvested: When hunting the penguins the hunters will only choose the largest and fattest penguins as to make the most of their kill. The larger the bird the more fat that can be used. 
The fuel is used around the kingdom in many ways. The lower class will use the fuel as a means of lighting small lanterns in the home for light during the night. Larger homes and estates will have large lanterns on at all times of the night and cities will have lanterns all through the major streets supplying light to the citizens in the night. The other major use for the oil is in the northern lighthouse. The oil is used to create a massive fire on top of the lighthouse while a very large wind shard actually the largest wind shard stands in from of the fire acting as a lens. The light passes through the wind shard causes it to fracture and spread out after hitting the wind shard. This creates a massive beam of light that can be seen for miles. Due to the light being fractured by a wind shard many have said they that light that comes from the wind shard will actually bend in the wind. 
What changes must the source go through to be prepared for use: The penguin fat is cooked down and fried in massive chunks. The chunks will liquify and are strained to create a liquid oil that is then used as the fuel source. 
How did this discovery affect the society: Light around the kingdom meant that the kingdom was more productive during the night hours. Caused an increase in productivity. 
Who created the product: The original use of Penguin Grease comes from the small villages on the beaches of Zurrican. The families here would depend on Penguin from food and did not waste anything. With an abundance of penguin grease they began using the grease to start fires and for cooking.
