Magical Ink

They all knew that Magic was a thing in their world. And had been for a very long time. Religion as we know it didn't really exist, instead the various faces of the ones who gifted Mankind with Magic were thanked and followed accordingly.   But there were few that would do anything to prove that magic wasn't a benign gift to Mankind. Instead it was a bet between the Gods to see how mankind would use magic, turning the growth of man onto another path.   And the one who was going to find this proof was one who used his magic to delve deep into the magic of those who called to him. And followed the Path of the Seekers.
