Location: Triangle bend 1 - Miami
Triangle bend 2 - San Juan, Puerto Rico
Triangle bend 3 - Bermuda

Known Information

The Bermuda Triangle is a well known space that some have called a null space.

There have been reports of magical based navigation failing to work past the boundary line, and even the non-magical based tools do not working. Various planes, ships, and boats that have all disappeared have done so for varying lengths of time depending on when and where they were lost. Some have disappeared for a day or two, the people within not remembering what happened during that time or believing that it had just been an hour or two, while others have not yet been found.

Due to the odd amount of disappearances within the Triangle, which has been measured as such, there have been tentative expeditions to try to find the vessels. So far, only a few of the missing vessels have been found while there are sightings of several ships, many of them ancient, floating around in the triangle, always turning away from the boundary as they got close.

Some Seers* say that the ships that are seen are locked within the Triangle, the souls of their people stuck in a loop but unable to tell why the loop can not be broken.

Some who have done readings, scrying, or other magical based information seeking techniques all find that there is very little information that they can gain.
The most information one such investigator was from a mix of various styles of scrying, readings and questioning the Spirits. The woman had been old and well trained in many styles, putting all of her knowledge to the hunt for information. Her essay was published in a Paranormal Magazine and talked about everything that she had tried to garner her information and still it was not as much as people wish to know.

Lost Ships, Planes and Boats

Noteable Losses

1) The first documented loss was a ship that was found to have sunk within the Triangle was the USS Cyclops, which sank sometime in Mid-1918. During that time, there had been small skirmishes between pirates and ships. She was well known to carry ore of varoious kinds between ports, including her last load of Manganese ore. The last communications that any port got from her was that she was heading on her plotted course without issues before she disappeared. Planes sweeping the area of where she was known to be traveling at could find no signs of her, nor of any pirate ships.

2) The next was the Carol B. Derring. It had been a five-masted schooner that had been built for sailing in 1922. After it had disappeared during one such expedition, it had been finally found run aground at Diamond Shoals on February 28th, 1924. The FBI ruled out several theories about why the ship had no-one aboard, looking as if her crew had just simply left. They ruled out piracy, domestic Communist attacks and rum-runners stealing the ship.

3) In 1948, Flight 19, as it was known as, was running a training flight of five of their TBM Avenger torpedo bombers. Their last known location had been over the southern right part of the triangle and was on the last of their leg to Fort Lauderdale. When the flight didn't arrive back at base after that last of their journey, investigators set out to see if they could find any wreckage. Nothing was found and it was finally labeled as a navigational error which had lead to the planes running out of fuel and crashing into the ocean.

4) The next notable and well documented disappearance was the G-AHNP Star Tiger. It disappeared on it's flight from the Azores to Bermuda on May 4, 1951. G-AGRE Star Ariel disappearing just over a year later on it's flight from Bermuda to Kingston, Jamaica. Both planes were known to be Avro Tudor IV passenger air craft that had been run by British International Airways. It was know though that they had both been running at the limits of their useability and range, the slightest error meaning that they could go down easily.

5) The Douglas DC-3 aircraft, number NC14389 was the next documented plane to disappear within the triangle. It disappeared December 3, 1951 on a flight that went from San Juan, Puerto Rico to its final destination of Miami. There has been no trace of the air craft, the 32 people aboard it at that time declared dead after ten years of not being found. With no clues as to where it could have disappeared, the investigation is still considered open but cold.

List of Known Losses

Between the years of 1700 to 2020 the following vessels disappeared in the same general area. In 1993, an expedition found several of the vessels scattered along the edge of the border of the triangle between Puerto Rico and Bermuda. Others have not been found.
In no particular order:
    • A well known journal entry from Christopher Columbus and the crew of Santa Maria state that there were unknown lights before the landing at Guanahani. No noted losses.
    • USS Pickering going from Guadeloupe to Delaware sunk with 90 people. It is possible that there was a gale that took them down and the sea has covered the remains.
    • USS Wasp was last seen in the Caribbean and sank with 140 people as far as anyone could tell. Some bits of wood and supplies that floated in the ocean water were all that were found.
    • USS Lion was lost with 14 people and several hundred dollars of cargo. No wreckage has been found.
    • The Rosalie was found abandoned. See below for more information.
    • USS Proteus (AC-9), 58 people on board, cargo of bauxite lost. A month after that, sister ship USS Nereus (AC-10), 61 people, cargo of bauxite lost. Thought to have been the fault of the ore that was known to liquify if it got wet or if it was moved around enough. Due to the age of the ships, it was thought that they went down with the shifting weight. No wreckage found.
    • A pleasure yacht named the Connerman IV, only a few members of the crew having been found adrift in a lifeboat, unable to tell anyone what had happened. Found.
    • 43-foot racing yacht was lost with owner Harvey Conover and four others. The 14-foot skiff that was a part of the yacht was found near Jupiter Florida.
    • SS Marine Sulphur Queen was lost with 39 crewmen and 15,260 tons of sulfer. Last heard from when she was in a rough sea storm, listed lost 2 days after it set sail. Declared faulty and should not have set sail, not found.
    • KC-140 Stratotankers Aircrafts collided. From witness reports, they spun out of control, disappearing from view and the witnesses were unable to find their positions. Found.
    • Cabin Cruiser Witchcraft disappeared with owner Dan Burnack and Priest Patrick Horngan. Burnack called in a distress to the Coast Guard, stating that the propellers blades had struck something and they were stuck. They requested a flare sent up in 20 minutes so that they could be found in the dark. By the time they got there, the ship and her passengers had disappeared and were not found.
    • HMCS St. Laurent (DDH 206) sank off of Cape Hatteras. Water was taken on during the tail end of a storm. Found.
    • Douglas C-54 crashed due to pilot error officially. The pilot swears that he felt a pull on his craft but was released due to his denial in being the reason why the plane crashed.
    • B-29, 2nd Bomb Sq, crew were forced to evacuate their ship. They were found three days after the fact, healthy, if not a bit red from the sun, unknowing of how long they had been adrift and not knowing where two of their crew members were. Both the missing crew and the ship have not been found.
    • USAF C-119 Flying Boxcar, 440th Troup Carrier Wing. Missing between Florida and Grand Turk Island. Last call was just north of Crooked Island. Some debris were found but the rest of it was not.
    • Private ERCO Ercoupe F01 was lost with the pilot and passenger. Plane not found and people declared dead in 1983.
    • 4 seater Cessna 337 Super Skymaster went down with 4 passengers and the three man crew that was flying the plane. Nothing has been found.
    • A 19-foot boat holding two 14 year old boys, Perry Stephan and Argon Marits went on a fishing trip and went missing. Found 1 year later without the teens.
    • Piper PA-23 disappeared with 3 people. The black box was found but the information on it is mixed up and the case is considered cold until the information can be retrieved properly.
    • Private MU-2A aircraft at 24,000 feet disappeared from radar and radio contact with air controllers in Miami cut out. Plane parts were found along with a severely damaged black box, rendering the information on it useless.
A weird bit of information: A VidTube animation done by one Kyle Mend mentions the Bermuda Triangle's center as the location of happiness but no one has been able to get to those coordinates.

Urban Legends and Information around certain ships

It has been recorded by various people that the Sailing Ship, Ellen Austin had come across a derelict ghost ship Depending upon what source one is to pull the information from, a person would get two different stories on what happened to that vessel.
    • A storm moved the ship away and it was once more lost. OR
    • Was once more found but without a crew.
The legend goes that the Ellen Austin came across the ship in the foggy waters of the Sargasso Sea. Deciding that they would board the ship and see what cargo could be salvaged from it, the crew sent some of their men to board the ship and sail it to their next port side by side with the Ellen Austin. During the following hours, a storm started, separating the two ships from each other.
Once the storm had cleared and they cam back together once more, the Ellen Austin found the abandoned ship without her new crew. Deciding that the crew had most likely been forced overboard by the storm, the captain decided to try to board the ship himself. Once on board of the ship though, they found that a thick and blinding fog had rolled in, separating the two ships apart once more.
The remaining crew on the Ellen Austin didn't see the ship after the fog cleared, the ship and those on her had disappearing with it.
Those who went to research this legend found that there was no actual reports about the ship in question losing a good amount of people from her crew, much less her captain of the time. In more modern times, it has been discovered that the man who had originally stated that the legend was just that, a legend, had spoken about the legend several years before his book had been published.
The same people who discovered that also traced a story about a derelict ship that disappeared with several crew members during a storm and then a fog had been talked about in early 1960. The story stated that the incident had taken place in 1890 however the story does not state where the information came from.
The Rosalie was indeed found but there is some theories that the information that was noted down and preserved was not all of the information that was told to the proper authorities. Several Seers, both of the Present and Past, have visited the protected ship and walked on her boards, talk about ghosts that linger on a ship that still sails.
No efforts to prove or disprove these readings have been made but the ship has been placed under strict protection due to the age and status of it.

Theories of the Triangle

Paranormal/Supernatural/Unexplained

Over the years, many theories about where the Triangle comes from, why it does what it does, and the many reasons why planes and ships disappear within its borders have sparked many theories.
One such theory is that the fallen city of Atlantis is the reason. Their tech was well known to combine machinery and magic when the island was still standing, but had been destroyed by one of their owns hubris. The exact location was never known due to the fact that one could only get to Atlantis via one of their ships, and thus it is said that the Bimini Road is a connection to Atlantis and leads to the heart of the Triangle.
It is said that there is something from Atlantis that messes with anything connected to the fact that navigation tends to become useless.
As far as most archeologists around the Bimini Road can figure out though is that it is a natural formation that had once been above sea level and used by the people on that coast as a natural land bridge.
Others think that perhaps in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle region, there is a parallel universe that is causing a warp to suck objects that get close to it into it. Or just drag them into the sea depending on where they get caught in the warp.
Yet other theoriests think that perhaps aliens from other planets use the spot as a safe space to rest and fix their ships on a hidden island. The lights that Christopher Columbus had seen while sailing could have been one such ship that had stopped to fix itself or to just see how human kind was doing.
Nothing has been proven true yet and are considered conspiracy theories at best.

Natural Explanations

With most of the known issues while traveling through the triangle, there are thoughts about why they happened. Despite not having anything conclusive, most scholars who have studied the triangle tend to have some thoughts about what goes on.
Compass problems, which result in navigation issues, have been known to happen to ships and planes alike. Scholars know of the fairly odd magnetic anomalies that happen within the triangle and theorize that due to that, the compasses are thrown off.
Others state that the magnetic anomalies aren't a possible reason seeing as even Navigational Magics have issues while within the triangle, even just over one of the main boundary lines.
The losses that happen within the Triangle are also thought to be the results of the Gulf Stream and the current that it creates on the surface of the sea. Hitting this river within the ocean means that a ship or plane landing on it will be carried along by the stream. This theory is shaky at best seeing as several of the found wrecks are thousands of miles away from the current and show no signs of being dragged along by this surface river.

Human Error

This is more likely outside of the odd weather patterns for many of the lost planes and ships. Humans are known to be dense or stubborn when it comes to certain things depending on what they're doing at the time. With that in mind, it is also not the only answer to what has happened to many of the lost vessels.

Violent weather

There are well known powerful storms that form in various tropical waters, having cost thousands of lives and billions of dollars in damage or lost revenue. One such storm that was well known to have sunk an entire Spanish fleet in 1502 was a destructive hurricane that struck the Francisco de Bobadilla's Spanish fleet. It was also the first instance of a storm within the Triangle destroying something.
Since then, there have been many storms that have gone through the Triangle. There have also been many Atlantic hurricanes also taking a path around and through it. Before the creation of weather satellites and well known weather based magicals, there had been no warnings when a storm would be approaching the ships.
It is thought that the sinking of the Pride of Baltimore on May 20, 1985 was the result of a powerful downdraft of cold air. The crew that had been found noted that the wind had done a complete 180 in how it blew and the intensitiy of it went from 32 km/h to between 97 to 145 KM/H. Such weather phenomenon have been described as a bomb going off. The downburst of cold air that sits above can sweep down and explode, causing a sudden and, most times, deadly turn in weather.

There have been others instances of such weather patterns happening.

  Methane hydrates

Methane Hydrate is a form of natural gas that can sit in large fields on the continental shelves, occasionally releasing bubbles that rise up to the surface. In experiments done by laboratories, the bubbles proved that they were able to sink a ship by decreasing the density of the water. If it was close enough to the Gulf Stream, any wreckage would have dispersed.
It is also thought that the occasional methane eruptions has produced regions of frothy water that are then unable to provide properly buoyancy for ships. If this was true, such an area forming would sink a ship fast and without warning.
Reports from the USGS describe that there are large stores of undersea hydrates all over the world, including within the Bermuda Triangle. It is thought that the releases of such things have been happening for the last 20 thousand years or so.
Connections to Secret Sects
The most outlandish theories are those that are connected to the so called The Seekers . The theories around this is that they have the island that was once marked upon the map in the direct middle of the triangle and has set up several magical ways of keeping people from getting to them.
They kidnap those who are on the planes, ships and boats to use for various things. Some are released after their minds have been wiped of information while others are never seen again.

No information on this subject has been found outside of conspiracy forums.

Email From: Seeker Kleric Email To: Seeker General List To Whom It May Concern,
It has been brought to my attention that perhaps we start to watch the various conspiracy forums for those who wish to try to come to the Island to discover the secrets.
People have become to curious about the Triangle to be safe for us.
I suggest that we assign those who know the forums best and have a connection to them to start watching them and to warn us should they see hints of new people trying for the island.
  Sincerely, Seeker Kleric
