Magic Equality Movement

Magic Equality Movement, or MEM, was originally a worldwide group of blood mages who didn't agree with the ban. Today magic-users of all types as well as non magical people are members of the movement.

Blood Magic Massacres

The Magic Equality Movement is said to have been responsible for the massacres during the anti-ban protests in many cities of the world. Policemen were controlled by blood mages and made to shoor civilians, while civilians were exploding like baloons filled with blood. The official version is that MEM presented the ultimatum to the United Nations. The UN was to revoke the ban or such massacres would continue. Instead, UN ordered the Blood Magic Investigations Division to capture members of MEM. About 75% of members were arrested or killed there. The surviving 25% and any who joined later had to hide.

The truth about the massacres and the movement's involvement can't be determined. Any theories that MEM was framed are quickly called conspiracy theories and MEM can't defend itself as revealing the affiliation to the movement is an instant arrest by the BMID.
