Herbalism

Herbalism, together with alchemy, is a school of magic that heavily relies on the properties of the ingredients and items used while performing it. As the name implies, herbalism focuses on herbs and other plants. Its most common use is healing, but herbalists can do also many different things. They include poisoning or casting protective spells. Herbalists can be also called upon to purify sacred places, such as altars or temples, before a religious ceremony.

Casting

The process of casting spells has two stages in herbalism. First, a magic-user has to to prepare the plants by preparing a brew, preparing a salve or preparing the plant to be eaten. Next, the herbalist must infuse the prepared plants with magic through the use of incantations. Only then, the plants can have the desired effect on a person. The most important thing to remember when engaging in herbalism is that incantations act as a catalyst for the plant's properties to activate. Neither of those things don't work alone, only together.
