Magic Earth

There was a time when the people of Earth had magic. There were fantastical creatures with amazing powers that all lived together with humanity. But, the magic slowly faded away and eventually humans came to believe that it had never existed. They built a world out of science and reason that achieved a great many wonders. Then magic suddenly returned.   It started in a quiet southern capital. Ordinary people just going about their lives suddenly weren't human anymore. Naturally, there was chaos. When order slowly returned it was the work of single individual. A brash young woman with a personality that matched her new, monstrous form dragged the world kicking and screaming into a new era of magic.
