Nagas

Basic Information

Anatomy

Nagas are defined by having the upper body of a human and lower body of a snake.
Variations may include hoods on cobra-like nagas and claws.

Dietary Needs and Habits

By having the upper body of a human they are natural omnivores, but due to their snake bodies they have a major preference to meat. They will rely on meat their whole lives preferably, but if they have difficulties finding or hunting food they will resort to eating fruit and berries if they have to.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Some people hunt nagas for their extreme amount of snakeskin which will be used in various items such as clothing, armor, decorations etc. This is however illegal, and is only done by unlawful people.
Nagas might also be captured to be sold at the black market as exotic pets, servants, for their meat or skin.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Usually found in warm and damp climates, preferably in jungles or wooded areas. However they are not bound to these types of climates, and others have been found in everywhere ranging from caves to mountains and sewers to lakes. As long as the naga is equipped for it, they may survive in any climate.

Average Intelligence

At the same level as a human. They might not however have the same access to knowlegde like the humans and might not know as much about the world and its history because of is.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Their sense of smell and hearing is significantly better than the average human's.
Some vipers, pythons and boa based nagas can also sense heat signatures similar to how the animal itself can do so. Note that it is only vipers, pythons and boas who can sense other creatures' heat signature.

Civilization and Culture

Common Dress Code

Clothes are not necessary in warmer climates, and is usually not worn much by either male or female nagas. The only exception is for the chief of a tribe or settlement wearing some clothes to stand out among them. Other than that, nagas are free to wear whatever they wish to wear.

Varies greatly depending on what species the naga is based off of.
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
The colors, markings and patterns will usually resemble the snake they were based off of. Sometimes the colors can be of an entirely different origin, and might not be based off of any existing snake species.
