The Ayirian House War

The Ayirian House War was one of the greatest wars in Ayirian history. The war was started due to decades of misrule by House Sithis, culminating in King Rolic II Sithis raising taxes on the noble houses of Ayira. In 138 BSW, most of the noble houses in Ayira rallied behind a new claimant to the throne, Thac Daris, who ruled over Lan'ai. At the First Battle of Shoral, however, it was proved that Rolic II still had support, as multiple houses came to his aid. Over the next five years, the two sides would battle for control of the kingdom. By the end of the third year, Rolic II was running low on soldiers. Thus, he enlisted a Yezic force in his army, promising them the region of Lan'ai as a reward for aiding him. This proved to be wildly unpopular, however, and in 135 BSW he was assassinated. The Yezic continued the struggle, however they were given little aid by the population of Ayira, and after two years, Thac was victorious. House Sithis was replaced by Thac's house, House Daris, in 133 BSW, thus ending the Ayirian House War.
