Anguin Mountains
The tall, stony peaks of the Anguin Mountains tower over everything from the Western Plain to the Ayiran Plain. The rocky foothills are dangerous and foreboding, and yet there are some- perhaps those who wish to remain apart from society, or wanted criminals- who still make their homes in these mountains. There are also the miners- those that live at the foot of the mountains and who extract the rich metals and minerals from it.
Geography
The Anguin Mountains stretch from Onarith in the north to the Great Sea in the south. A few smaller ranges jut out from the main one, and it is connected to the Inillun Mountains to the east. Many rivers flow from the range, including the Naro, Thelged, Aicirian, and Taur. Some points of the mountain range are lower than others, and passes exist within the mountains, large enough to let whole armies through, which has happened on several occasions.
Fauna & Flora
Forests exist along the foothills of the mountains (mainly coniferous), but as the elevation increases, the plant life gradually becomes smaller and smaller, until finally no more plants can grow. The mountains are home to sheep, goats, boars, bears, and panthers. Eagles, hawks, and falcons are larger in the mountains than at lower elevations, and many can even kill fully-grown goats.
Natural Resources
The Anguin Mountains are filled with metals and minerals, including gold, silver, iron, copper, tin, lead, diamonds, and many other precious gemstones. These have become a chief export and industry for those living around the mountains, and has made the countries bordering them rich.
