Sorg's Mount: Grief of the Goddess - By Koraki Saros Kanosis

Introduction

Sorg's Cavern is a massive limestone cave carved by a stream cutting through the mountain. Sorg's cavern is located in the Ryoja Fell in a Mountain known as Sorg's mount. It was once believed to be volcanic because steam would be seen rising from the Mountains. Any who approached the mountain would become overcome with grief. Over time local legends grew around the mountain.

Geography

Located in Aldaria on the border of Lenagaard Sorg's Mount over looks the lake of Kristal Aansoo. This lake which translates to the Lake of Crystal Tears adds to the varying myths of how the mountain was once a goddess who lost her beloved and transformed into the mountain.  Below the mountain is a valley meadow and lake. From Sorg's cavern a waterfall trickles during dry season and gushes during wet seasons.

Ecosystem

This side of the mountain is filled with diverse flora and fauna from Fell elafi to Phoenix. In lower parts of the mountains you may find a few varying dinosaur species. The lake itself is filled with fish like and eel like creatures and makes a great fishing spot when not on the mountain side of the lake. In spring phoenix will lay their eggs and weep into the lake. It is believed they weep because of the mountain's grief but the true reason is unknown.

Ecosystem Cycles

In Winter Sorg's Mount freezes over and the lake becomes icy. The climate of the area is generally warm most of one age around the suns but deep winter is it's coldest time when ice sheets carve its way through the mountains. In spring as the frost melts it creates new springs and creeks which lead to the lake from the mountain. In summer the mountain remains surrounded in cool mist and young phoenix can be seen flying the skies. As the autumn approaches the fire flowers of the area bloom and many animals but especially the phoenix

Localized Phenomena

All year round this mountain in the Ryoja Fell is surrounded by a dense mist. Any who try to travel the mist are enveloped by the fog. Once taken by the mist they become overcome with grief and lost in the mountain. While the legends say it is because the mountain is in fact a goddess who grieves her lost love only part of this is true. The mountain is under a spell cast by the Goddess of Lost Time, Mika Tsuki.
