Dragon

People once thought I was crazy for my beliefs, but then I was granted the title of Dragon and no one could ignore what I said.
— Unknown Dragon
The title of Dragon brings with it the embodiment of the bestower dragon and declares the bearer of being that dragon's chosen champion. Chosen to bear this title brings with it enormous respect and responsibility, not from anything that the bearer must do, but because they now carry with them the name of the dragon which they represent.

Qualifications

Each dragon decides chooses who it deems as worthy and may do so for any reason it sees fit. For some that might be having a superior intellect only rivaled by the dragon's themselves, or perhaps an undefeatable fighter. Some may have other reasons to bestow upon another their name, but common to all the times it has happened, these champions went on to become a powerful influence throughout the land.

Appointment

Only one of the great dragon gods can raise someone to this rank. Each of these dragons have the ability to raise one individual to this rank at a time, but may revoke the title if they wish.

Benefits

The dragon may choose to bestow gifts upon their champion along with the title. The gifts have been seen to vary between each recipient from increasing their already dominating strength, to granting them the power of the dragon's breath. These gifts must be something which the dragon already possesses or can do. (An Ice Dragon cannot give their champion fire breath.)

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

At any point in time and for any reason, the dragon may choose to revoke the title from the bearer. This could be for any reason that they wish such as finding a more worthy champion, or if they feel their champion has drifted from the dragon's ideals. The dismissed champions seem to be accutely aware of the dismissal regardless of distance from the dragon.
I was able to bear witness to a dismissal once. I thought the worst of our concerns was the rampage that he went on. But then all hell broke loose as the dragon came to finish him off, and I learned again why we should fear the wrath of the great dragons.
