Lyrian
The Birth of Hope
In Times Past
Origin
On a baren water filled planet, the Emanations first arrived and pulled the land from the watery depths. This land first created was
Lyrian. Being the first land, it was blessed by the Emanations that created it. To protect over the sacred garden which they created, the Emanations created the
Seraphim as guardians and overseers. Each with a domain of power, the Seraphim guided Lyrian towards a brighter future. Because of their incredible power and influence, many of the Seraphim were worshiped by the people and were treated as Gods.
The New Order
As time progressed and the ages passed, the land was developed and the origin of the land faded in history. The Seraphim began to fade and so too did the wild power in the land. Once a land where dieties walked freely and were worshiped by all, Lyrian slowly descended into a Godless land, where one's strength and will power became the creed. All other faith faded and the power of the Gods diminished. In this new age of strength, the strongest creatures became the rulers. The dragons, some of the most intelligent and strongest creatures across the land, decreed themselves the new Gods.
Recent Times
Once again the order of rule has been unbalanced this time with the coming of an ominous omen, the Black Sun. It has been about 80 years since the arrival of the Black Sun and the civilized races common to the Material Plane have slowly been pushed to the brink of extinction. The dragons, once the self declared rulers, have vanished from the land and very land itself has now risen up to claim its rule.
Now
The land has turned feral and dangerous. The areas once safe for all travelers are now fatal to all but the most capable adventurers.
Baelryn City is the last known bastion for many of the races, but it is also a powder keg waiting for a spark. The ruling faction in Baelryn is collapsing upon itself and the minor disputes between the varying races are turning more violent and becoming more prominent. In the last 80 years tensions between the races have been rising as domains and factions have been decreasing. Baelryn remains standing, but for how long? Will it fall to the wandering hordes or will it destroy itself?
