Assembly of Hope

The Assembly of Hope is an old abby in the west of Calare dedicated to Hope. When the country was founded and the lands incorperated into it better roads were built leading to the abby, causing it to expand. More settlements in the area lead to more sick, injured, or desperate poor, all of which are welcome with Hope. The monks and clerics used donations and offerings of tax money from the new state to dedicate whole wings of the abby to the housing of sick and injured individuals while expanding their library of medicine and gardens of curing herbs.
People come from all over Calare to study at the abby, even if they are not dedicated to Hope. These days you might see a cleric of Pelor or Bahamat come for study. along with monks of the Questgiver to curate the library itself. A faction dedicated to the Wanderer has even set up an orphanage on the grounds.

Purpose / Function

All buildings dedicated to Hope deal with the sick, the poor, those down on their luck, and those in need of redemption. This one in particular is a place of healing and teaching the healing arts in Calare.

Alterations

While once a simple abby giving comfort to the villages in the area since the founding of Calare it has expanded adding several wings, most of which serve as a place for the unwell.

History

A few hundered years ago those dedicated to the goddess Hope founded the abby near the Andervak Hills. Only a few villages existed in the area with a loose association to eachother. Most of them looked to the abby for direction but never got much more than "Be good to eachother". Two hundered years ago when Calare Prime was founded in the east for the purpose of settling disputes by all the countries in the region more people started migrating up and down the old roads, paving and expanding them as they went. The town of Haxaly was founded to the west of the abby, eventually expanding to a city while using the healing services that the abby provided.
