The Whiteraven
Carric Lianodel (whose real name is almost entirely a mystery in the present age) is an elven paladin known widely as "The Whiteraven". He is an enigmatic figure - showing up at unexpected times in unexpected places. Although he offers loyalty to no one, he is begrudgingly entertained by many prominent figures due to his incredibly powerful divine magic. Many have courted his services, but are almost always disappointed. His oath is one of "balance" between the light and the dark. He sees the Age of Abiding Twilight and the curse of The Dim as a temporary necessity, offsetting the light (literal and figurative) of the preceding Radiant Age. This dual nature has given him the nickname The Whiteraven (that is, a bright white version of a bird which is traditionally dark in both color and connotation).
As a symbol of balance between metaphysical light and dark, The Whiteraven has a pair of tattoos on his face, both dark red (not dissimilar to dried blood) in color. One sits immediately below the left eye, and is comprised of nine vertical lines to represent each of the nine hells. The other is placed above the right eye, midway up the forehead, and consists of four dime-sized dots in a horizontal line to represent each of the four layers of Elysium.
WANTS - To receive a sign that the time of darkness has run its course, and aid in swinging back the pendulum. AND to dissuade others from seeking such courses of action until then.
FEARS - That his dedication has been in some way misguided.

Personality
The Whiteraven is gruff, but not impolite. He is reserved, and is not swayed by events, insults, or compliments. He is, however, passionate about his service.
