War of the Tuath Military Conflict in Lupine Bay | World Anvil

War of the Tuath

The War of the Tuath never had an official name, though it was sometimes referred to as the Cataclysm. The powers that be wanted the entire event forgotten as quickly as possible. The secretive council of Tuath Dé, which ruled both Seelie and Unseelie courts of the Midgardian Faefolk, had decided it was time to remove any potential threats to their own power.
The council sent one of their strongest commanders, Lux Ferre, to build an army and prepare to destroy any Primal or Faefolk people that could rise to challenge their power. Before Lux Ferre could finish preparing an army, mostly composed of Seelie and Unseelie Elves, word of the coming massacre spread. The Clobhairceann Faefolk learned they were the primary targets, along with the Primal Keystone Dragons.
Luckas, a Clobhairceann, worked with his closest friends and reached out to the Dragons to form an alliance. Any Primal and Faefolk that would assist them in their fight were welcome. The resistance wasn’t quick enough. Luckas watched as Tuath Ferre slaughtered almost all of his people using the vile sword which was said to be forged with the soul of the planet itself. Even the full might of a Rigain and her thralls could not stand up to the army of the Tuath Dé.
When they defeated the Tuath commander, the battle finally ended. The cost was high, life lost on both sides of the conflict was unfathomable. Clobhairceann Faefolk were now effectively extinct, and the Primals lost some precious Keystone Dragons; forever altering the magic dynamic of the entire planet. The Elves were furious about the entire campaign and threatened rebellion if the council didn’t create a binding agreement to prevent such an event from happening again in the future.
The Tuath Dé agreed. Secretly, they considered the entire ordeal a success and would gladly accept The Accords that allowed the lesser Faefolk and Primals to keep themselves in line. As part of the agreement, the council stayed out of the affairs of the lower courts unless proceedings and disputes required them. No one ever heard from the council of Tuath Dé ever again.
