Planet Xezzura; Shining beacon of wealth and prosperity in the Plutus system, home to our target; The Tower of Hades. Every five to ten cycles the Mydysius’ Comet orbits close enough to Xezzura to cause absolute calamity. The electro-magical fields emanating from the comet disrupt all magical and technological energies, causing complete random chaos for three entire days.
What was once a devastating occurrence has now become a unifying celebration of survival for the entire planet, which is what we would need to exploit. They will be selling an unending variety of devices and toys with the intention of going haywire as part of a game or training. We’re going to use those toys.
Sending the people a throwback reminder to the olden days when rampaging machines had to be subdued before they’d disrupt production or cause an injury. Anyone not working during the Festivus will be filling the streets as party goers. The government will provide enough food and drink for the local population to be utterly distracted for our purposes.
You’d have the three days while Xezzura is within the vicinity of Mydysius where everything magical and technological will shut down. It would be necessary to be aware of any devices or areas that they can’t shut down, they will secure and closely watch those. These areas are to be avoided.
What you’d need to look for is much worse, though. In some very rare cases they can protect electro-magic systems and keep them operating normally with powerful shielding. The cost and power requirements of such a shield are astronomical.
