Knights Templar

The order of the Knights Templar originally began with King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. When Arthur discovered Excalibur and wielded it on his holy quest to slay a Keystone Dragon of Midgard, he realized the true divine power of the sword. He instructed his knights on the creation of the secretive order of templar to watch over the sword once he was gone, ensuring it never fell into the hands of the unholy.


After King Arthur passed away, his heirs continued to run the Knights Templar. They kept the sword secret and safe. Whenever someone discovered the sword, or it was used by one they deemed unworthy, they did everything in their power to track it down and reclaim the artifact. They viewed Excalibur as their own holy grail and spent centuries searching for the righteous inheritor of the sword.


After many years had passed, a distant heir of King Arthur reclaimed the sword for the Knights and moved to the farthest settlement west in the new world to get it away from its mired history amongst the old continents. The heir had discovered rumors of a long-lost history of the Elves, where an ancient family of guardians waited for the weapon to be returned.


The order of the Knights Templar had diminished over the centuries, so the heir of Pendragon took the divine charge and personally sought the rightful wielder of the sword. When she arrived at Lupine Bay, things did not go according to plan. Upon locating the guardians of legend, they met her with hostility and malice.


The guardians wanted nothing to do with the sword, so the order of the Knights Templar kept it protected while they passed into myth and legend. They remained within Lupine Bay as the last vestiges of the order dwindled into protectors of the familial heirloom, Excalibur.
