BackgroundArandas is the son of a priest in the local church. He was well-learned, as befits his parents' position, and had a guaranteed future as a keeper of the faith. Still, as youths oft do, Arandas dreamed of more. He went out to town frequently, hoping to talk to travelers and foreigners. He met Sidonia on one such outing; the sorcerer approached him and brazenly courted him. The young man found himself involved with her, against his better judgment and the desires of his parents. Not only was she a sailor, little inclined to settle in one place, she was clearly a tiefling, touched by the very demons of Mayim they prayed to keep at bay. And yet... to a lad raised in a church in a little out-of-the-way town, Sidonia was like freedom. She was the sea-breeze, the sun's kiss, the call of the distant horizon. And she liked him, too! Arandas hopes to, through his studies and dedication, be able to travel one day himself. To see beyond the little garden he was raised in, and meet the world with his own eyes. Hopefully, Sidonia will be there with him.
