Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Physically fit, slight, agile and moderately flexible. Lucy is slender and extremely healthy, despite her rough-and-tumble lifestyle. Any broken bones or cuts and scrapes have recovered remarkably well at extreme speed, and she has never been known to be seriously ill.

Body Features

Moderately tanned, with iridescent segmented plates on her hands, feet and forearms. She has long ears that stretch out horizontally, but most unusual is the pair of huge mandibles, similar to that of a stag beetle, mounted on the top of her head. The mandibles are connected by musculature to her head and are capable of moving, but are not connected to any kind of mouth. She also has a pair of antennae, again reminiscent of a stag beetle, that allow her to pick up pressure changes in the air.

Facial Features

Wide, bright eyes and a mouth that seems to naturally tend towards a smile. Otherwise her features are relatively plain, especially compared to those around her. Her face is considered very human.

Physical quirks

Left handed, walks quickly, as though excited about her destination. Scratches her ear when nervous.

Special abilities

Exceptional cellular regeneration surpassing even animals like the axolotl, but has an enormous calorific requirement when doing so. Is also able to control her metabolism to some extent, and make some gradual changes to her anatomy.

Wears denim short shorts with a vest top and suspenders, which often dangle loose at her waist. She wears trainers and a large bomber jacket when cold.

Education

No formal education of any kind, both Coleopta and Poll have attempted to give her some kind of education in numeracy and literacy, but she remains extremely limited in those respects. She is, however experienced in exploration, and to a lesser extent survival, skills that came more naturally to her and were taught ot her by other members of the community as she grew and showed a knack for it.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Prior to her discovery and the events of her story, Lucy has few accomplishements to call her own. Naturally laid-back and carefree, Lucy often let the world go by in favour of accomplishing things with meaning only to her. She became one of the few to easily climb the Skire, for instance, and knows the city better than almost any other, in the regions around the Convie. She prides herself on her acrobatic skill above most other things. She once wrestled and caught a lurker measuring 184cm and weighing 77kg, an impressive feat for her size.

Lucy' life has been a long list of near-misses and embarrassments, but thanks to her sunny disposition and formidable constitution, she has always been able to walk away with a smile on her face. More failures to be added

Mental Trauma

Lucy is mentally sound, though she does have some issues with commitment, and has an intense fear of thunderstorms and other loud noises that she does her best to conceal.

Intellectual Characteristics

Lucy is not an intellectually gifted individual. Were she a normal human in a normal environment, she would fail maths, languages, sciences and all sorts, but she has a very kinetic method of learning and a natural spatial awareness that lends itself very well towards her impressive feats of agility and hand-eye coordination. She also has the ability for suprisingly complex abstract thought, but she doesn't really take advantage of this skill until later in life, where her experiences lead her into a much more philosophical mindset.

Morality & Philosophy

Lucy believes in kindness, sharing and mercy first and foremost, because it is the only life she has ever known. Since she was small, she has only known generosity and tolerance, and so it is impossible for her to imagine the concepts of greed and cruelty at first. With exposure to Luka, she slowly learns more and more that kindness has a limit, and that sooner or later, some behaviour must be responded to with condemnation and justice. Her sense of mercy and kindness never leaves her though, and so she always insists on giving her enemies a chance.

Fast and agile, very good at jumping and climbing and with little fear of heights. She also has great balance and is very resourceful. However, despite her hand-eye coordination, her fine motor skills are more lacking, and her arithmetic skills are poor.
