Nostraluve Ritual (No-str-al-uve)

What is the Nostraluve Ritual?

The nostraluve ritual is a ritual vital to the Nostralovish, and vital for their government to function properly. The ritual is the process by which a new chief is being crowned as chief of the village. The ritual is done when the old chief retires or dies, if the chief retired then the chief watches the ritual as it takes place. The ritual is done in Koda's temple, and the whole village watches the ritual as it takes place. After the ritual, there is always a festival that takes place, where the villagers dance and eat fish.

What happens during the Ritual?

During the ritual, the new chief sits in front of the Koda statue inside the Koda temple and takes off their veil if they still wear one. If the old chief is still alive then they'd sit in front of the new chief, if the old chief is dead then his corpse would be laid in front of the new chief. The Pastor of Koda will chant, "Koda we call that you accept (New chief's name) as the next chief, please allow them to represent you in physical form," after about five minutes of the pastor chanting he will write a symbol on the new chief's body with a Lousei and ink. The chief will bow in front of Koda's statue and beg for acceptance (with the expectation of a few chiefs, if they don't they are rejected instantly) if Koda wants the new chief to represent him then the chief's eyes will begin to glow and Vines will calmly wrap them. After the ritual, if the chief is accepted the chief will put their veil back on if they have one, then they will be given a sohlu that'll represent the fact they're chief. At the end of the ritual Koda has entered the New chief's body and will begin giving guidance to the new chief.

What happens after the Ritual?

After the ritual and festival, the new chief will move into the Koda temple, as well as their family. They would start their duties as chief the next morning, and within that week are expected to share what their agenda is.
