Order of the Azure Horizon

This scholastic order teaches that knowledge about the world is everything. The monasteries they uphold are as much libraries and museums as anything else.
Older members of the order usually keep to these monasteries to safeguard them and teach newer members, but those deemed capable enough are sent out into the world to explore. Their accounts and the items they bring back are what constitutes most of the treasured knowledge kept by the order. Of course, potential treasure hoards of magic items mean their strongholds are very well defended indeed.

Structure

Every monastery organise itself as it wants, but typically rank is established by seniority. Though special achievements can bypass this to a great extent. A monastery is led either by an abbot or, for the really large ones, an enlightened abbot. These form the council that guides the order as a whole.

Public Agenda

The order is very well respected in most places. Partially because everyone wants access to its libraries.
