Kingdom of Kyrnn

Located at the south-east tip of the Allowadh continent, Kyrnn is a kingdom with a mixed history. It has alternated between a strong trade power with ambitions of grandeur, and being isolationist and cut off from the world. It is currently in a phase of the latter and quite suspicious of its neighbours.

Demography and Population

Krynn is overwhelmingly human. This wasn't as pronounced before, but with the rise of the Haernell dynasty, the country became more isolationist after around 1100 SR. Other races started to feel less welcome and many emigrated or had a hard time finding success. Today, about 85% of the population is human, mot of the rest are either dwarves keeping to themselves in the mountains or elves living in the Lothana Forest.

Military

The combined forces of Krynn are quite large and well equipped, but they are also poorly coordinated. Most of them are controlled by various lords rather than the crown. In theory, the monarch can call upon all these forces to follow their command, but in practice, it would be very easy to circumvent this.

Religion

Most religions take a backseat in Krynn as practical matters remain the focus. The official Kyrnan Church holds that the gods are representations of three aspects of divinity: beginning, stability, and end. All those aspects are valid and represented.   Worship of the gods who arrived with the First Breaking  are less accepted than those of the main pantheon.

Foreign Relations

The nation's closest neighbour is the Kingdom of Lothana, but the two have a rather cold relationship. The traditionally elven kingdom feel that Krynn is encroaching on what is theirs, while Krynn thinks Lothana is a perfect example of how elves can't be negotiated with.

Agriculture & Industry

Most of the country has very fertile lands and agriculture is one of its largest exports. There is even more than is actually shipped abroad as the focus has become taking care of everyone within Krynn before sending anything away. This is bad for the economy but has widespread support among the people.

Education

Everyone in Krynn is given the chance as a child to learn the basics of reading, writing, and maths. This doesn't extend more than the absolute basics, however. Those who can afford it might hire tutors for their children, which is how they might later get into prominent schools. There are institutes of learning that provides grants for those who show great talent, but it isn't easy to get in.

Infrastructure

Basic infrastructure within Krynn is extremely well kept and of great pride. Roads are never broken for long and there are stops built along the way that provides protection from the elements in huts that can be defended against beasts or robbers. Cities favour architecture that is sturdy and very functional.

Legislative Body
The monarch, theoretically, has absolute power and is in charge of creating laws and can dictate what any other part of the government should do. In reality, they are very dependent on the loyalty of the various guilds operating in the country. These guilds often have militias, and local lords hire mercenary forces.   All in all, this makes for a country where the absolute rule is not absolute, but everyone has to pretend that it is in order to maintain balance. And who the king sides with, is still an important factor.
Judicial Body
The legal system of Kyrnn is very complex and relies almost entirely on common law and interpretations of individual edicts from the monarch. Local lords are ultimately responsible for enforcing these laws and employ guards to act as police and lawyers to handle the courts.   Nobility answers to the monarch themselves who is then judge and jury.
