The Elves

Kings of all the Cosmos

The Elves, they say, are perfect creatures created in their God’s own image. It was they who introduced law and magick to the world following the Madness of mankind’s reign in Kaena. Taller, smarter, and more beautiful than the other races it was clear to the first Elves that it should fall to them to rule the entire world. Though often seen as haughty and narcissistic by other races, most Elves are charming, loving people who only wish to safeguard what they see as the lower races.

Though they are now subjects of the Imperium Vulcanalia, there are many Elves in the world who feel their proper place is not as the serf, but as the master. In the Imperium some elves are taken to be slaves for the aristocracy, which is seen as the ultimate humiliation and punishment for the proud race.

The great King of the Elves, Anshan Ahurazun, is still revered by all races of the world more than two millennia after his death. He was at once a wise and generous king, a powerful and undefeated warrior, a learned scholar and unequaled sorcerer, a poet and philosopher, it is said that no creature born before or since has been Anshan’s equal.

STANDARD RACIAL TRAITS
  • Ability Score Modifiers: Elves are nimble in mind and charming in person. They gain +1 Intelligence, and +2 Charisma. OR choose one of (a) Any +2, any other +1 or (b) Any +1, any other +1, any other +1.
  • Size: The Elves are Medium creatures.
  • Base Speed: 30 Feet
  • Darkvision: You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
  • Sociable: You have proficiency in one of the following skills: Deception, Insight, or Persuasion.
  • In His Image: You know the 1st level spell Shield of Faith and may cast it once per long rest.
  • Still Waters Run Deep: You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened, and magic can't put you to sleep.
  • Devoted Companion: Elves refuse to let go of those nearest and dearest to them, fighting passionately when companions are endangered. You gain advantage on attack rolls when you are within five feet of a grappled, incapacitated, prone, or restrained ally.
  • Languages: You begin play speaking, reading, and writing Common and Ahuran. Elves can choose one bonus language that you and your DM agree is appropriate.

STANDARD RACIAL TRAITS
  • Ability Score Modifiers: Elves are nimble in mind but their form is frail. They gain -2 Constitution, +2 Intelligence, and +2 Wisdom.
  • Size: The Elves are Medium creatures.
  • Type: Elves are Humanoids with the Elf subtype.
  • Base Speed: 30 Feet
  • Languages: Elves begin play speaking Ahuran. Elves with high Intelligence scores can choose from the following: Aelfric, Hieratic, Iwisan, Izinyo, Kush, Otchipwe, Runic, and Vulcanic.
  • Immunity: Elves are immune to magic sleep effects and gain a +2 racial saving throw bonus against enchantment spells and effects.
  • Low-Light Vision: Elves can see twice as far as normal in low light conditions.
  • Devoted Companion: Elves refuse to let go of those nearest and dearest to them, fighting passionately when companions are endangered. Elves gain a +1 racial bonus on attack rolls and caster level checks while adjacent to an ally who has been reduced to fewer than half her maximum hit points.
  • Sociable: Elves are skilled at charming others and recovering from faux pas. If Elves attempt to change a creature’s attitude with a Diplomacy check and fail by 5 or more, they can try to influence the creature a second time even if 24 hours have not passed.
