Magnetic Engine

A completely different type of Engines that can be used only in Solar Rails. It can be summed out as a specially refurbished magnetic accelerator that can be used to accelerate manned ships in a safe manner. It's biggest disadvantages is that it's stationary. It can't be build on-board a ship. It can be summed up as a cannon that shoots ships at a preestablished course, on the end of which lies another magnetic accelerator that is used to safely stop the 'package'.
Solar Rail is a system of very cheap transport of people and materials throughtout star systems and according the timetable that have to be executed with absolute precision. It exists in systems that were colonized for a long while and possess at least a single 'important' object, for example an inhabited planet.
It is called 'Solar Rail' due to using solar panels to power up the 'trolleys' to lower the exploatation prices as much as possible. Sometimes it is even expanded with massive transfer stations on the outer borders of the system, that allow cargo vessels avoid the long journey towards the inner system.
