Alcubierre Drive

Alcubierre technology can be used to construct both STL Engines and FTL Drives, however the severity of the construction differences between them means they can't be used interchangeably. The mechanism behind the propulsion is the same, however. Alcubierre Engine curves the space before the ship, making the space travel rather than the ship.
Just as Alcubierre Engine far surpasses conventional engines, it is also far behind the Hyperspace Drive as FTL Drive. On one side it allows ship to access places that are impossible to visit by using Hyperspace Drives, for example a Realspace areas of Hyperspace Anomalies. On the other hand, the average achievable speed is 5c. And it also requires the ship to achieve 0,9c before engaging the drive.
5c compared to up to even 150c. The difference is obvious. Thus Alcubierre Drive is only used for long range scout drones, since they can hide on the very verge of the system, reaching the place without causing thermal flashes.
