Long Valleys

The invasions of the years without summer were over seventy years ago now, long ago enough that only the very oldest humans remember. The Long Valleys were once productive farmland bordering on the sea where the Old Folk and the people of the Sea Kings had formed a new culture through years of bloodshed.   Now the population is a tiny fraction of what it was before the invasions and much of the land has returned to forests, but humanity will not be kept down for long and is starting to surge again, looking to reclaim their long-ago villages from the orcs and goblins and forces of chaos. At their side are the few remaining elves, dwarves, halflings, and gnomes who had also once inhabited these lands.   The ruins of civilization promise riches and land for those who are bold enough to claim them from the wilds.
